Every book lover eventually encounters the same problem: too many books, not enough storage. One way to solve this problem is obvious — get rid of your books. Seriously, where’s the fun in that?
Instead, why not let your home reflect your book love? Here are a few simple ways your literary lifestyle can make your every day surroundings a little bookishly better!
Use books as furniture.
There are never enough surfaces to hold the drink, the glasses, and the current book, right? Solve that problem by makig a table! You can use any books you like for this, but large, hardback books work best. If you don’t like the jackets, simply remove them. Still don’t like the cover or the title on the spine? Turn the books so the page edges show.
Twist, turn, and stack as many books as you need to create the table size perfect for your space.

Make the books themselves art.
Books don’t have to be particularly beautiful by themselves to make a striking display. Sort by color, arrange by size or style, embellish with a bit of trim. There are countless ways to artistically display any book you own!
Make Books Part of Your Holiday Decorating
Most of us have a book (or 12!) for at least one holiday. Make a vignette with them on a coffee table, under the tree, or any other creative location (like any of these wow ideas!) or this really sweet book tree!
Make Book Form Meet Real Life Function
We all have cookbooks — and some of
us you actually use them! Most of them have mouthwatering photos on the covers, so take advantage of that to make your friends think you’ve got a little Martha or Julia in you! Those knives you’ve got hiding in a drawer? Get them out and within reach, maybe even grab one of those beautiful but never used cookbooks for this knife block!
Don’t forget the lights! You can make a lamp out of just about anything, so why not use your old books?
With just a little imagination, there are endless ways your literary lifestyle can make your every day surroundings just a little bookishly better!
What are some creative ways you use books as decor in your home? Please share in the comments because no book lover ever has enough storage space!
