“A person can stand almost anything except a succession of ordinary days.” ~~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
I am stepping into a new season, and the last thing I want to do is settle, get too comfortable…stagnate. There are a zillion things that pique my interest, but way too often I talk myself out of trying them for one reason or another. Finally, I looked at my bucket list and asked myself, “Why Not?” The list is long, pretty eclectic, and some things are definitely more exciting than others!
I’m calling this adventure “The Art of ‘Why Not?'” because I think that God has created each of us a masterpiece, and it is through our successes and our failures — our “trying” — that the picture He planned from the beginning starts to become visible.
Hello, I’m Wendy! Welcome to my little corner of “Why Nots?” and “What Ifs?” This is where I hope to venture down a few unexplored paths, delving into brand new challenges along the way, and finally tackling some older ones that I’ve left unfinished.
As the dreaded empty nest approached, friends and family repeatedly asked, “What are you going to do now?” Good question! What do I want to do now? So many possibilities…so many chances to learn something new… There are many paths, some long and arduous and full of excitement, some short and effortless and sweet. Some I’ve never dreamt of venturing, and others I’ve been very creatively avoiding. But they all present opportunities that lead somewhere — possibly my new life’s purpose (not to put too dramatic a point on it! 😉 ), or just a more organized kitchen and linen closet (not to detract from even the smallest accomplishment!). Either way, I’ll learn something new, perhaps make a few new friends, and hopefully become more of the woman God has planned for me to be.
Any journey is more fun with a friend, so won’t you join me? Come on in and let’s pick a path to explore this week! Who knows what we will discover together!
