It’s October, time for falling temperatures and falling leaves, cozy evenings and even cozier blankets! And books (of course!). And (drum roll, please…!) Write 31 Days!
Write 31 Days is an opportunity for writers to hone their writing discipline in creative and unique ways. I am participating this year, with both excitement and a bit of apprehension! I’m excited to be delving deeper into a topic that intrigues me; I’m apprehensive to commit to producing content for 31 consecutive days!
The title for my series is “Bookishly Better! 31 Days Of Literary Lifestyle Inspiration.” And now you are undoubtedly wondering, “What exactly IS a bookishly better lifestyle?”
Great question! While I do have a broad idea, I am still fleshing out much of what this encompasses. That is why I’m looking forward to exploring this perspective that’s been mulling around in my head for a while now. However, I think of a literary lifestyle as being open to the power of words to affect the way you live. I realize that is very broad, and I’ve done that intentionally. It is a lifestyle, after all, and who wants to pigeon hole that?
In keeping with the lifestyle theme of The Art of “Why Not?”, I’ll be considering ways books can enhance various areas our lives. We will view them as points of inspiration for dreaming, traveling, and even decorating. Our relationships and worldviews will be challenged and hopefully strengthened. Through the experiences we live on the pages, we will find ways to connect with real life people. We’ll entertain and be entertained. And of course, we will read (or at least have several feet added to our own Mt. Must Read!).Join 31 days of #bookishlybetter #inspiration & create your own #literarylifestyle! … Click To Tweet
If the mere mention of books is causing panic flashbacks to your high school literature classes, rest easy! You don’t have to identify any themes, explain any symbolism, or even love to read in order reap the benefits of a “bookishly better” lifestyle. I promise!
Tomorrow I’ll tell you about a HUGE personal announcement (yes, dreams DO come true!) and some of the books that inspired that dream.
So join me as we make every day a little “bookishly better!”
